Creative Arts Psychotherapy

I am a qualified and experienced Creative Arts Psychotherapist based in Oxfordshire. I provide support to all ages and specialise in working with families.

Creative Arts Psychotherapy uses a range of creative mediums: drama, music, art, movement and play. However, I am client-led and many of my clients just want a safe space to be heard.

My Location

I work from home in Oxfordshire. I provide a private, welcoming space; dedicated to giving my clients a confidential and non-judgemental space to explore their issues at their own pace. If I am working with a young child, I welcome parents to attend. I work predominately in person, but I do provide online support, if that is easier for the client. I always offer both a free telephone call and an introductory session to establish whether I might be the right fit before moving forwards with scheduled sessions.

Next to the chair is a rustic wooden side table stacked with books and a speckled ceramic mug. On the wall behind, there is a large, abstract blue painting and to the right, a wooden wall panel with a brass floor lamp.

After the first 2 sessions with Sara there was remarkable progress and both my daughter and I knew we had found someone who could help.”

“Sara’s warm, understanding and compassionate approach has made our daughter feel safe, heard and supported throughout.”

My Approach

There is now a wealth of therapy available, but I believe all effective therapy should be relational and client-led. I trained to become a Creative Arts Psychotherapist as I don’t think we can always readily locate the words to express the complexities of our lived experience. I specialise in supporting children, young adults and their families. The playful approach of my psychotherapy offers a safe starting point.

The books cover topics including love, learning disabilities, psychotherapy, attachment, trauma, autism, and childhood development.
